Montreal Expos
The Expos were 74-40 in August 1994, the best record in the game, when the players' strike ended the season and the World Series with it. There was no postseason that year. The club never won a pennant in 36 seasons, and the 1994 side is why that fact stings: it had the best record in the game and the season was stopped.
The overall record is 2,755-2,943 with one division title. The worst season is 1969, the first, at 52-110. Home was Jarry Park, then Stade Olympique from 1977, a stadium built for the 1976 Olympics whose retractable roof never worked properly. The club moved to Washington after 2004 and became the Nationals.
Nine Hall of Famers played here, among them Gary Carter, Andre Dawson, Tim Raines, Vladimir Guerrero, Larry Walker, Pedro Martínez and Randy Johnson. Felipe Alou managed for ten seasons, including 1994, and won 691 games, more than anyone else who had the job.
