Kevin Gross Marquee

In August 1987 an umpire found sandpaper glued inside the heel of his glove and he was suspended for ten days, which he served without much comment. On August 17, 1992, pitching for the Dodgers, he no-hit San Francisco.

Fifteen seasons gave him 142 wins against 158, a 4.11 earned run average, 2,487 innings and 1,727 strikeouts, for five clubs. He was a durable innings pitcher for bad clubs: he started 368 games and lost more than he won every year but four.

He was six foot five, was chosen for the 1988 All-Star team, and hit six home runs, which for a National League pitcher of that era was a going concern. No Hall of Fame ballot has ever listed him.
