Terms
Short version: take what is useful, say where it came from, and do not treat it as infallible.
Reuse
The prose and the derived tables here are offered under CC BY-SA 4.0. You may copy and adapt them, including commercially, provided you credit this site and license what you make from them on the same terms. That is not a choice — material from Lahman, Chadwick and Wikipedia is used here under share-alike terms, and those terms carry forward.
Photographs are not covered by that. Each one carries its own license and photographer on the page it appears on, and reusing an image means honoring the terms of that file rather than these.
The underlying records belong to their sources. Retrosheet's data in particular is copyrighted by Retrosheet and available free from them directly — see sources and licenses.
Accuracy
This is a derived work built from historical records that are themselves incomplete, and from prose that is in many cases composed rather than written. It is offered as-is, with no warranty. Do not rely on it for anything consequential without checking the source it names.
Errors are worth reporting and will be fixed: [email protected].
Scraping
The material is share-alike licensed, so there is no need to scrape it covertly. If you want it in bulk, write to the address above and it can be provided in a form that will not cost either of us bandwidth. Automated traffic heavy enough to degrade the site for readers will be rate-limited.
No affiliation
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Major League Baseball, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, any club named on it, or any of the sources it draws on.
