David Segui Marquee

b. July 19, 1966 · Baltimore Orioles 1990–1993, 2001–2004, New York Mets 1994–1995, Montreal Expos 1995–1997, Seattle Mariners 1998–1999, Toronto Blue Jays 1999, Texas Rangers 2000, Cleveland Indians 2000

David Segui hit .291 over fifteen years without ever settling anywhere: eight organizations, two separate spells in Baltimore, and a habit of being traded in the middle of good seasons. His best was 2000, when he batted .334 split between Cleveland and Texas.

He was a switch-hitting first baseman who threw left-handed and fielded the position well, and he was the son of Diego Seguí, the Cuban pitcher — the two are the only father and son to have played for the Seattle Mariners.

Born in Kansas City in 1966, Segui collected 1,412 hits with 139 home runs and 524 walks, finishing his career back in Baltimore in 2004.
