Manny Trillo Marquee

He hit .381 in the 1980 Championship Series against Houston and drove in the runs that won the fourth and fifth games, and Philadelphia went on to win its first World Series. He won Gold Gloves in 1979, 1981 and 1982 and Silver Sluggers in 1980 and 1981.

Seventeen seasons gave him 1,562 hits, 239 doubles, 571 runs batted in and a .263 average, with four All-Star selections. He once handled 479 chances at second base without an error, which was the record when he set it.

He was Venezuelan, from Caripito, and came to Philadelphia from the Cubs in an eight-player trade. Seven clubs used him. The 1995 ballot gave him no votes at all.
