Hubie Brooks Marquee

The Mets sent him to Montreal in December 1984 in the four-player deal for Gary Carter, and in 1985 he hit .269 with 100 runs batted in as a shortstop, which almost nobody at that position did then. He won Silver Sluggers in 1985 and 1986 and was an All-Star in both.

Fifteen seasons gave him 1,608 hits, 290 doubles, 149 home runs, 824 runs batted in and a .269 average. He moved to right field in 1988 and hit 20 home runs for the Dodgers in 1990.

He was from Los Angeles and played third base, shortstop and the outfield across five clubs. The 2000 ballot gave him no votes at all.
