1942
Born August 20, 1942
San Antonio, TX, USA
He was 15-42 through his first ten seasons, bouncing between the minor leagues and five organizations. Cincinnati traded for him in June 1973 and he went 12-6 the rest of that year; he then won 12 or more in five of the next six seasons for the Big Red Machine, and won a game in the 1975 World Series and started in the 1976 one.
Sixteen seasons gave him 104 wins against 103, a 3.64 earned run average, 1,939 innings and 1,303 strikeouts. He was the smallest pitcher in the league for most of it and threw a screwball.
He was never an All-Star and no Hall of Fame ballot has listed him.
