Mike Jorgensen Marquee

He was part of the Mets' celebrated late-1960s farm system, came up as an outfielder, and was traded to Montreal in 1972, where he moved to first base and won a Gold Glove there in 1973, hitting .268 with 18 home runs. It was the best season of his career.

Seventeen seasons gave him 833 hits, 132 doubles, 58 home runs, 429 runs batted in and 532 walks, with 1,052 games at first base and 283 in the outfield. He drew walks at a rate that outran his batting average — a .243 career hitter who still got on base often enough to stay useful.

He played for six organizations across his career and returned to the Mets organization as a scout and front-office executive after he retired, working there for decades. The 1991 ballot gave him one vote of 443.
