The Astros lost 111 games in 2013 and won 107 in 2019, which is as sharp a reversal as any club has managed in six years. The World Series came in 2017 and again in 2022, from five pennants and 14 division titles across 61 seasons at 4,900-4,752. In 2020 the commissioner found that the club had stolen signs electronically during the 2017 season and fined it, and no one involved in the scheme lost a title.
The best season is 2019, at 107-55, which ended in a World Series loss. The worst is 2013, at 51-111, the year the club moved to the American League. Home was the Astrodome from 1965, the first domed stadium built for the game, and Minute Maid Park since 2000.
Thirteen Hall of Famers have played here, among them Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, Joe Morgan, Nolan Ryan and Billy Wagner. A. J. Hinch won 481 games in five seasons, the best rate of anyone who has managed the club, and was suspended and dismissed over the sign-stealing.
