Born June 19, 1938
Brooklyn, NY, USA
He appeared in one game for Brooklyn in 1956, the Dodgers' last season before the move to Los Angeles, and he was still playing thirteen years later — the final former Brooklyn Dodger left in the major leagues. Houston's expansion Colt .45s took him in 1962 and he played third base in the franchise's first game that April.
He hit .280 with 155 hits and 69 runs batted in for Houston in 1964, his best season. Thirteen seasons gave him 1,103 hits, 135 doubles, 386 runs batted in and a .252 average, with 1,094 games at third base.
He played for Houston for seven years across its first decade, through the move indoors to the Astrodome. He finished with the Mets in 1971 at thirty-two. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
