Craig Biggio batted six times on June 28, 2007 and singled five of them, the third single taking him past 3,000. Houston beat Colorado 8–5 at home.
Biggio had played all twenty of his seasons for the Astros and had done it from three different positions, starting as a catcher, moving to second base, and spending three years in center field when the team needed him there. He was hit by 285 pitches, more than any player of the modern era, and hit 668 doubles.
It was his last season; he retired that autumn with 3,060 hits and 414 stolen bases. The Hall of Fame elected him in 2015.
