Brooks Raley pitched for the Chicago Cubs in 2012 and 2013, went to the Korea Baseball Organization for six seasons, and came back to the majors in 2020 as a different pitcher entirely — a left-handed reliever who has since been a late-inning arm for four clubs.
The Korean years were productive enough to make him a genuine star there, and the return has lasted longer than the first attempt: more than 250 appearances since 2020, with an earned run average under 4.00 and twelve saves.
Born in San Antonio in 1988, Raley reached the World Series with Houston in 2021 and has spent his most recent seasons with the New York Mets.
