Rivera's best season came with San Diego in 2014. He hit .252 with 74 hits, 11 home runs, 44 runs batted in and 27 walks across 103 games. The hits, home runs and runs batted in were career highs.

Thirteen seasons gave him 330 hits, 65 doubles, 43 home runs, 176 runs batted in and a .221 average across 542 games. He caught 505 games and played 14 at first base. Rivera's major-league record stretched across eighteen years because of several seasons away.

Seattle brought him up in 2004. Later stops included Minnesota, San Diego, Tampa Bay, the Mets and Cubs. He moved from the Angels to Atlanta in 2018, returned to the Mets in 2019 and 2020, then split his final 2021 season between Cleveland and Washington. In all, he represented ten club identities.
