Harrisburg Giants

The Giants played four seasons in the Eastern Colored League at a recorded 142-107, finishing second twice. Those figures rest on the surviving box scores rather than a complete count of the games played.

Oscar Charleston managed three of the four seasons at 105-77 while playing center field, in the middle of a career that most contemporaries rated the finest in Black baseball. He is one of two Hall of Famers on the club's rosters; the other is Ben Taylor.

Home was Island Park, on an island in the Susquehanna, which flooded often enough to cost the club home dates. It folded after 1927 when the Eastern Colored League collapsed mid-season, and Harrisburg has had no professional Black club since.
