He went 16-11 with a 3.33 earned run average for Arizona in 2012 and finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting to Bryce Harper. On May 7, 2021, for Cincinnati, he no-hit Cleveland.
Fifteen seasons gave him 109 wins against 99, a 4.09 earned run average, 1,757 innings and 1,368 strikeouts, for eight clubs. He made 312 starts in 320 appearances, with three complete games and two shutouts. He was claimed on waivers, non-tendered or released repeatedly and kept coming back with a different mix of cutters and changeups.
He was from Louisiana and pitched at Southeastern Louisiana. He was still pitching in 2025 at thirty-eight, after elbow reconstruction. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
