Reyes reached his peak after a decade of changing roles and clubs. Used only in relief by Minnesota in 2006, he appeared 66 times, went 5-0 and allowed five earned runs in 50 innings for a 0.89 earned run average.
Fifteen seasons gave him a 35-35 record, four saves, 642 strikeouts and a 4.21 earned run average in 726 innings. He started 40 of his 673 appearances, but none after 2005. His career high of 75 appearances came twice, for Minnesota in 2008 and St. Louis in 2009.
The Dodgers brought him up in 1997, and a trade to Cincinnati during 1998 began a route through eleven organizations. He changed clubs during 2002 and 2003, then settled long enough for three seasons each with Minnesota and St. Louis. Four final appearances for Boston in 2011 ended his career.
