He hit .249 with 17 home runs and 70 runs batted in for San Diego in 1992, the busiest and most productive season of his career, playing center field there for four years before moving among six more organizations.
Twelve seasons gave him 676 hits, 114 doubles, 80 home runs, 317 runs batted in, 43 stolen bases and a .257 average across 838 games in the outfield. He hit .312 in 104 games for the White Sox in 1994, two years after his San Diego peak.
His only pitching appearance came in 1991, when he recorded two innings. He finished with Milwaukee in 1998 and returned to the White Sox for one final season in 1999. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
