Pop Schriver Marquee

Schriver's largest season came with Chicago in 1894, when he played 98 games and set career highs with 97 hits and 56 runs. He hit three home runs and drove in 49 while batting .274. Five years later with Pittsburgh he again drove in 49 and hit .281.

Fourteen seasons gave him 721 hits, 117 doubles, 40 triples, 377 runs batted in and a .264 average across 803 games. He caught 656 games but also played 50 at first base, 23 in the outfield and 18 at third.

Schriver began with Brooklyn in 1886, returned with Philadelphia in 1888 and spent four seasons with Chicago. His later route included the Giants, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and St. Louis. One final game for the Cardinals in 1901 completed a career spanning sixteen calendar years and eight club identities. He died in 1932, at sixty-seven.
