Mike Fetters had a delivery that involved snapping his head away from the plate and then back, which unsettled hitters and made him one of the more recognizable relievers of the 1990s. It also worked: 100 saves across sixteen seasons and 620 appearances.
Milwaukee got the most of it, six seasons in which he was the closer for three, saving 32 in 1996. The last stretch of the career took in seven more clubs in seven years, which is the ordinary fate of a right-handed reliever in his thirties.
Born in Van Nuys, California in 1964 and raised in Hawaii, Fetters struck out 518 batters in 717 innings with a 3.86 earned run average, and later coached pitchers in the majors.
