Jimmy Bloodworth Marquee

He hit .245 with 124 hits and 66 runs batted in for Detroit in 1941, one of his fullest seasons, at twenty-three, then joined the Navy for three years during World War II and lost most of the following seasons to service.

Eleven seasons gave him 874 hits, 160 doubles, 20 triples, 62 home runs, 451 runs batted in and a .248 average, with 867 games at second base for five clubs. He came back from the war a part-time player rather than the regular he had been before it.

He finished with Philadelphia in 1951 at thirty-four. No Hall of Fame ballot ever listed him. He died in 2002, at eighty-five.
