Gene Moore's one All-Star selection came in 1937 with the Boston Bees, a club whose name lasted only a few seasons before reverting to Braves — which is roughly the kind of career he had, spent in places that kept changing around him.

He appeared for eight different franchises between 1931 and 1945: Cincinnati, the Cardinals, Boston twice under two different names, Brooklyn, Washington and the St. Louis Browns, with whom he reached the 1944 World Series. He was a regular in Boston for three years and a useful spare part almost everywhere else.

Born in Lancaster, Texas in 1909, Moore batted .270 with 958 hits across 1,042 games. His death came on March 12, 1978.
