Sixteen seasons gave him 96 wins against 96 losses, a 3.93 earned run average, 1,830 innings, 163 starts and 35 saves. He started for the Cubs in the late 1970s — 7-15 with a 3.30 earned run average in 1978 for a club that could not score — moved to the White Sox bullpen, and never started again after 1984.
Six clubs used him across sixteen years, the last of them Pittsburgh in 1992 at thirty-nine. No Hall of Fame ballot ever listed him.
