Troy Trojans
The Trojans played four National League seasons at 134-191 and never finished above fourth. What makes the club worth a page is who came through it: Roger Connor, Mickey Welch, Tim Keefe, Buck Ewing and Dan Brouthers, five Hall of Famers on the rosters of a club that never had a winning year.
Troy was much the smallest city in the league and could not fill a ballpark against the crowds New York and Chicago drew. The league removed it and Worcester after the 1882 season and replaced them with New York and Philadelphia, which is the transaction that founded the club now called the Giants: Connor, Welch, Keefe and Ewing all went to New York together.
Bob Ferguson managed most of the club's games at 122-157. Home moved between three grounds in four years, none of which held a major-league game afterward.
