Laker's largest offensive season came with Cleveland in 2003. He played 52 games, collected a career-high 39 hits, hit three home runs, scored 17 and drove in 21 while batting .241. The runs batted in were also a career high.
Eleven seasons gave him 147 hits, 28 doubles, 11 home runs, 79 runs batted in and a .226 average across 282 games. Laker caught 254 games and appeared four times at first base. He also made two one-inning pitching appearances without allowing an earned run.
Montreal brought Laker up in 1992, and he remained there through 1995. He later appeared for Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Cleveland, with several gaps and midseason moves along the way. His 2004 season matched his career high of three home runs and produced 17 runs batted in. Laker's final major-league appearances came with Cleveland in 2006, fifteen years after his debut.
