Scott Fletcher Marquee

b. July 30, 1958 · Chicago Cubs 1981–1982, Chicago White Sox 1983–1985, 1989–1991, Texas Rangers 1986–1989, Milwaukee Brewers 1992, Boston Red Sox 1993–1994, Detroit Tigers 1995

He hit .258 with 169 hits for Texas in 1987 and was chosen for the All-Star team, a rare peak in an otherwise steady, unspectacular career built on a good glove and enough bat to keep a lineup spot. He hit .273 with 123 hits in 1990 for the same club, a second useful year.

Fifteen seasons gave him 1,376 hits, 243 doubles, 688 runs batted in, 514 walks, 99 stolen bases and a .262 average, playing 839 games at shortstop and 729 at second base for six clubs. He was traded twice in his first decade and settled into journeyman status after.

He finished with Detroit in 1995 at thirty-six. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
