Seánez never started a major-league game, yet his relief career lasted seventeen seasons and 544 appearances. His best run came with San Diego in 2005, when he went 7-1 with a 2.69 earned run average and struck out 84 in 60 innings across 57 games.
His career totals were a 41-30 record, 12 saves, 574 strikeouts and a 4.10 earned run average in 566 innings. He followed his 2005 season with 41 appearances for Boston and eight more for San Diego in 2006, then set a career high with 73 games for the Dodgers in 2007.
Cleveland brought him to the majors in 1989. His record contains several gaps before he established himself, including no major-league games in 1992, 1996 or 1997. Seánez represented nine organizations, changed clubs during 2001, 2004 and 2006, and finished with Philadelphia in 2008 at thirty-nine.
