Omar Vizquel played shortstop for the Seattle Mariners for five seasons before an eleven-year run with Cleveland, and later played for San Francisco, Texas, Chicago and Toronto, closing out his career in 2012 at 45 years old.

He batted .272 with 2,877 hits over 2,968 games, scoring 1,445 runs and stealing 404 bases across a twenty-four-season career, one of the longest in this database.

His defense earned him eleven Gold Gloves between 1993 and 2006, and he took the Hutch Award in 1996.

Three All-Star selections came in 1998, 1999 and 2002. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on April 24, 1967, and switch-hit while throwing right-handed, playing until he was 45 years old.
