Michael Fulmer Marquee

b. March 15, 1993 · Detroit Tigers 2016–2018, 2020–2022, Minnesota Twins 2022, Chicago Cubs 2023, 2025, Boston Red Sox 2025

Michael Fulmer arrived in Detroit in 2016 by way of a trade deadline deal that sent Yoenis Céspedes to the Mets the previous summer. He won eleven games, posted a 3.06 earned run average and took American League Rookie of the Year, then made the All-Star team the following season.

Injuries then took most of four years. He had Tommy John surgery in 2019, missed that entire season, and struggled on his return, at which point the Tigers moved him to the bullpen. It worked: he saved fourteen games in 2021 and became a useful late-inning arm.

Born in Oklahoma City in 1993, Fulmer has since pitched for Minnesota, the Cubs and Boston. His record stands at 37-50 with 578 strikeouts and 19 saves across 265 appearances.
