Marty McManus Marquee

He drove in 109 runs for the 1922 St. Louis Browns, the club that won 93 games and finished a game behind the Yankees, at twenty-two. He led the American League with 44 doubles in 1925 and with 23 stolen bases in 1930, five years apart and for two different clubs.

Fifteen seasons gave him 1,926 hits, 401 doubles, 88 triples, 999 runs batted in, 675 walks and a .289 average, split between second base and third. He hit .300 or better five times.

He managed Boston in 1932 and 1933, taking over a club that had lost 111 games, and got them to 63-86 in his one full season. Two writers' ballots gave him two votes each. He died in 1966, at sixty-five.
