José Molina Marquee

Molina stayed in the majors through work that centered almost entirely on catching. He appeared in 915 games behind the plate, compared with 14 at first and third base combined. His busiest season was 2012 with Tampa Bay, when he played 102 games and hit a career-high eight home runs.

Fifteen seasons gave him 592 hits, 117 doubles, 39 home runs, 223 runs batted in and a .233 average across 947 games. He set his high with 66 hits for Tampa Bay in 2013. Molina never reached 300 at bats in a season.

The Cubs brought him up for 10 games in 1999. After missing 2000, he spent seven seasons with the Angels across their Anaheim and Los Angeles names, then played for the Yankees, Toronto and Tampa Bay. His three-year Rays stint ended his career in 2014, at thirty-nine.
