Cangelosi became a regular with the White Sox in 1986 and stole a career-high 50 bases. He also scored 65 runs, drew 71 walks and collected 103 hits across 137 games, the only season in which he reached 400 at bats.
Thirteen seasons gave him 501 hits, 73 doubles, 154 stolen bases, 328 runs, 358 walks and a .250 average across 1,038 games. He played 617 games in the outfield. Cangelosi also made three pitching appearances, one each in 1988, 1995 and 1997, and allowed no earned runs in four innings.
After Chicago, Cangelosi spent four seasons with Pittsburgh and later played for Texas, the Mets, Houston, Florida and Colorado. He hit a career-high .318 across 201 at bats for the Astros in 1995. His final season came with the Rockies in 1999.
