Jim Edmonds played center field for the Angels for his first seven seasons before a 2000 trade sent him to St. Louis, where he spent eight more years, and closed out his career with brief spells in Chicago, San Diego, Cincinnati and Milwaukee.

He hit 393 home runs and batted .284 over 2,011 games, with 1,949 hits and 1,251 runs scored, one of the more well-rounded offensive lines among center fielders of his era.

His defense earned him eight Gold Gloves between 1997 and 2005, an unusually long run at a demanding position, along with a Silver Slugger in 2004.

He was picked for four All-Star teams, the seasons spread from 1995 to 2005. Born in Fullerton, California, on June 27, 1970, he batted and threw left-handed.
