Jeff Suppan Marquee

b. January 2, 1975 · Boston Red Sox 1995–1997, 2003, Arizona Diamondbacks 1998, Kansas City Royals 1998–2002, Pittsburgh Pirates 2003, St. Louis Cardinals 2004–2006, 2010, Milwaukee Brewers 2007–2010, San Diego Padres 2012

He beat the Mets twice in the 2006 Championship Series, allowing one run in fifteen innings, and hit a home run in the third game. St. Louis won the World Series a week later. Milwaukee then signed him for four years and $42 million, and he went 29-36 with an earned run average near five for them.

Seventeen seasons gave him 140 wins against 146, a 4.70 earned run average and 2,542 innings. He made 30 or more starts in eight seasons, which is why clubs kept signing him: 417 starts in all and almost no time missed.

Boston brought him up at twenty and Kansas City had five of his years in the middle. He was never an All-Star. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
