Jack Ryan Marquee

Ryan's largest season came with Louisville in 1890. He played 93 games, collected 73 hits, drove in 35 and scored 43 while catching regularly. He set his career high with two home runs the following year.

Thirteen seasons gave him 476 hits, 69 doubles, 189 runs batted in, 245 runs and a .217 average across 616 games. He caught 527 games but also played 42 at first base and 36 across second and third.

Ryan's career moved from Louisville to Boston, Brooklyn, Baltimore and St. Louis, with several gaps between appearances. After leaving the Cardinals in 1903, he spent eight seasons outside the majors. Washington brought him back for one game in 1912 and one more in 1913, extending the span from his debut to final game to twenty-five years. He died in 1952, at eighty-three.
