J. T. Snow Marquee

b. February 26, 1968 · New York Yankees 1992, California Angels 1993–1996, San Francisco Giants 1997–2005, 2008, Boston Red Sox 2006

J. T. Snow is remembered by most people for two seconds of the 2002 World Series, when he scored at the plate, saw the Giants' three-year-old bat boy wandering into the path of the play, and lifted him clear by the jacket without breaking stride.

The rest was a first baseman's career of unusual defensive quality: six straight Gold Gloves from 1995 to 2000, split between California and San Francisco, and 189 home runs from the left side. His best hitting season was 1997, when he drove in 104 runs.

Born in Long Beach in 1968, the son of the Los Angeles Rams receiver Jack Snow, he collected 1,509 hits across sixteen seasons and signed a one-day contract to retire as a Giant in 2008.
