Horace Ford Marquee

He hit .279 with 155 hits for Boston in 1921 and .272 with 140 hits the next year, his two best offensive seasons, playing shortstop for a Braves club that finished near the bottom of the National League both years. He moved to second base later in his career with Cincinnati.

Fifteen seasons gave him 1,269 hits, 200 doubles, 55 triples, 484 runs batted in and a .263 average, with 846 games at shortstop and 589 at second base for five clubs. Cincinnati had him for six seasons in the middle of his career, his longest stint anywhere.

He finished with St. Louis in 1932 at thirty-five. No Hall of Fame ballot ever listed him. He died in 1977, at seventy-nine.
