Damion Easley Marquee

b. November 11, 1969 · California Angels 1992–1996, Detroit Tigers 1996–2002, Tampa Bay Devil Rays 2003, Florida Marlins 2004–2005, Arizona Diamondbacks 2006, New York Mets 2007–2008

In 1998 he hit 27 home runs with 100 runs batted in and won a Silver Slugger for Detroit, which finished last and lost 97. He was an All-Star that season, the only time, and also collected 161 hits and stole 15 bases.

Seventeen seasons gave him 1,386 hits, 287 doubles, 163 home runs, 684 runs batted in, 114 stolen bases and a .253 average. He played second base, shortstop, third and first, and was still useful as a reserve for the Mets at thirty-eight.

California traded him to Detroit in 1996 for Greg Gohr, which is the sort of trade nobody notices until five years later. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
