Born January 21, 1966
Atlanta, GA, USA
He started for eight seasons with modest results, then did not pitch in the majors at all in 2001 after arm trouble. Atlanta signed him in 2002 and he had a 0.95 earned run average across 76 innings in 63 relief appearances — one of the best single seasons any reliever has had — and won a league setup-man award for it.
Fourteen seasons gave him 48 wins, 3 saves, 1,123 innings and a 4.14 earned run average across 441 appearances for seven clubs, with 136 starts early in his career and relief work exclusively after his comeback.
He finished with San Diego in 2006 at forty. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
