Candy Maldonado Marquee

He hit 22 home runs and drove in 95 for the 1990 Indians, the best season of his career, at twenty-nine. Toronto signed him in 1991, traded him, and got him back in 1992 in time for him to hit 20 home runs and drive in 66 for the club that won Canada its first World Series.

Fifteen seasons gave him 1,042 hits, 227 doubles, 146 home runs, 618 runs batted in and a .254 average. Los Angeles had brought him up at twenty and used him off the bench for five years; San Francisco gave him the job and he hit 18 home runs for the 1986 club and 20 with 85 runs batted in for the pennant winner in 1987.

He is from Humacao, Puerto Rico, and played for Puerto Rico in international competition. He finished with Texas in 1995 at thirty-four. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
