Bing Miller Marquee

Bing Miller doubled home the winning run in the ninth inning of the deciding game of the 1929 World Series, finishing off a Philadelphia Athletics side that had come from eight runs down in Game 4 two days earlier. He hit .368 in that series.

He was a regular for sixteen years, batting .311 with 1,934 hits, and was part of three consecutive Athletics pennants from 1929 to 1931. A trade to the St. Louis Browns interrupted his Philadelphia career for two seasons before Connie Mack reacquired him.

Born in Vinton, Iowa in 1894, Miller drove in 992 runs and finished with Boston in 1936. Miller lived to seventy-one, dying in May 1966.
