Álex González Marquee

In the eighth inning of the sixth game of the 2003 Championship Series, with Chicago five outs from a pennant and a spectator having just interfered with a foul ball, a ground ball went through his opposite number at shortstop and Florida scored eight runs. Three nights later González hit a twelfth-inning home run to win the fourth game of the World Series, and the Marlins took the title in six.

Sixteen seasons gave him 1,418 hits, 332 doubles, 157 home runs and a .245 average, with an All-Star selection in 2010 and 1,548 games at shortstop. He hit 23 home runs in 2004 and again in 2010.

He was Venezuelan and eight clubs used him. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
