The Whites played three National Association seasons at 102-77 and finished second in 1875, which sounds better than it was: Boston went 71-8 that year and won the pennant by 15 games. The club was one of three Philadelphia teams in the Association at various points, which the archive holds separately.
It did not join the National League when that formed in 1876 and disbanded instead. Philadelphia's National League place went to a different club, which became the Phillies.
The National Association's seasons are not counted as major-league by Major League Baseball, so none of this appears in the career totals on this site: the players are recorded and not credited. The club's name, like the Red Stockings and the Blue Stockings and the Canaries, describes what it wore.
