Cuban Stars West
The western Cuban Stars were a traveling club like their eastern namesake and played fourteen Negro National League seasons at a recorded 290-482 — every game on the road, against clubs that had a home crowd and a rested roster. Tinti Molina managed all of it, going 305-497, which is the entire managerial record of the club.
Those totals rest on surviving box scores rather than a complete count. Being permanently on the road is itself an explanation for a losing record, and the archive has no way to separate the two.
Cristóbal Torriente played here, a Cuban outfielder whom contemporaries compared to Babe Ruth and who is in the Hall of Fame. The club was one of two carrying the Cuban Stars name in different leagues at the same time, which is why this archive holds each separately.
