Cleveland Guardians

The Guardians are the Cleveland club renamed. It dropped the Indians name after the 2021 season, having used it since 1915, and took the new one from the Guardians of Traffic, the stone figures on the bridge outside the ballpark. The archive holds the earlier club separately, with its 107 seasons and two World Series titles.

Under this name the club has played four seasons at 348-299 and won three division titles, which is a better rate than most clubs manage over any four years. The best is 2024, at 92-69; the worst is 2023, at 76-86.

No Hall of Famer has played under the new name, which is only a statement about how recent it is. Terry Francona managed the first two seasons, his eleventh and twelfth with the club under either name, and Stephen Vogt has managed since. Home is Progressive Field, where the club has played since 1994.
