Trevor Bauer took the National League Cy Young Award in the shortened 2020 season, his one full year in Cincinnati, and signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers that winter. He made thirteen starts for them in 2021 and has not appeared in a major league game since.
Arizona had drafted him third overall in 2011 and traded him to Cleveland after a single season. The seven years there made him: he struck out 1,416 batters across 1,297 innings, made the All-Star team in 2018, and built a reputation for pitch design and public argument in roughly equal measure.
The career line reads 83-69 with a 3.79 earned run average over ten seasons and four clubs. He was placed on administrative leave in mid-2021 during a legal dispute, later served a suspension under the sport's domestic violence policy, and subsequently pitched in Japan.
