Terry Turner Marquee

Turner spent fifteen seasons in Cleveland's infield, playing 741 games at shortstop, 604 at third base and 250 at second. He hit .291 with 170 hits in 1906, his best offensive season, while moving among those positions as the club needed.

Seventeen seasons gave him 1,499 hits, 207 doubles, 77 triples, 528 runs batted in, 256 stolen bases and a .253 average. The 1905 season produced 155 hits and 17 stolen bases, while 1910 brought 150 games and 31 steals. He also appeared in 36 games in the outfield, a small extension of that defensive versatility. His Cleveland run lasted from 1904 through 1918, bracketed by one season in Pittsburgh and one in Philadelphia.

The 1947 ballot gave him two votes of 161. He died in 1960, at seventy-nine.
