He stole 47 bases in 2016 and 41 in 2013 and has 361 in fourteen seasons, with 1,639 hits, 291 doubles, 163 home runs and a .285 average. He won Gold Gloves in left field in 2015 and 2016 and has played all three outfield positions well.
In April 2017 he tested positive for nandrolone and was suspended for eighty games. He came back, was traded to Arizona and then to Miami, and had the best season of his career in 2022 for the Mets at thirty-three, hitting .292 with 16 home runs.
He is Dominican, from Santo Domingo, was raised by his grandmother after his mother died when he was nine, and signed at eighteen. Two All-Star selections. He is still playing.
