Rich Aurilia Marquee

In 2001 he led the National League with 206 hits and hit 37 home runs from shortstop with 97 runs batted in, which is the best season any San Francisco shortstop has had. He batted second, ahead of Bonds, and saw a great many strikes because of it.

Fifteen seasons gave him 1,576 hits, 301 doubles, 186 home runs, 756 runs batted in and a .275 average, with one All-Star selection and one Silver Slugger. Twelve of them were with the Giants across two spells.

Texas drafted him in the twenty-fourth round and traded him to San Francisco at twenty-two for John Burkett. He was the shortstop for the 2002 club that reached the World Series. The 2015 ballot gave him no votes at all.
