Red Dooin Marquee

Dooin became Philadelphia's player-manager in 1910 and ran the club for five seasons. His teams went 392-370, with 13 other games unresolved as wins or losses in the manager record. The strongest finished 88-63 and second in the National League in 1913.

As a player, fifteen seasons gave him 961 hits, 139 doubles, 344 runs batted in, 333 runs and 133 stolen bases with a .240 average. He caught 1,195 games, compared with only 23 at other positions. He played thirteen of those seasons for Philadelphia and stole 20 bases in 1908.

Dooin left the Phillies after 1914 and split 1915 between Cincinnati and the Giants, then finished with New York in 1916. Hall of Fame voters gave him one vote in both 1937 and 1938. He died in 1952, at seventy-two.
