Mike Guerra Marquee

Guerra's largest season came with Philadelphia in 1949. He played 98 games, collected 79 hits, scored 41 runs, drove in 31 and drew 37 walks while hitting .265. The games, hits, runs and walks were career highs.

Nine seasons gave him 382 hits, 42 doubles, 25 stolen bases, 168 runs batted in and a .242 average across 565 games. He caught 482 games and made only one other fielding appearance, in the outfield.

Washington brought Guerra up in 1937, followed by six seasons outside the majors. He returned to the Senators in 1944 and later spent four seasons with the Athletics. In 1951 he split his 82 final games between Washington and Boston, collecting 48 hits and driving in 22. He died in 1992, two days before his eightieth birthday.
